Rachel and Thomas celebrated their wedding at Hopewell Highlands, a beautiful hilltop barn venue near Hopewell Rocks, New Brunswick. Overlooking the rolling countryside and Bay of Fundy, the venue offered the perfect backdrop for their simple and elegant summer wedding.

The weather brought a little bit of everything, with rain coming and going throughout the day. Rachel and Thomas didn't let it change their plans. They headed outside in the drizzle for the photographs they wanted, and the soft, overcast skies ended up making the landscape even more beautiful. The muted greens, rolling hills and distant Bay of Fundy created such a romantic backdrop.

Before the ceremony, Rachel and Thomas shared private vows together on the covered porch — a quiet moment for just the two of them before joining their family and friends.

Their outdoor ceremony was incredibly heartfelt. One of my favourite things to photograph was actually happening among the guests: Thomas's parents spent much of the ceremony holding hands, with their arms around one another, exchanging little kisses as they watched their son get married. It was such a sweet reminder that a wedding day isn't only about the beginning of one marriage, but also the love stories surrounding it.

Rachel and Thomas were joined by a large wedding party who were clearly close friends and more than ready to celebrate alongside them. Despite the rain, the entire day felt relaxed, joyful and full of love.

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful Hopewell Highlands wedding as a second photographer for Abbie Carrier. It was such a lovely day to capture at one of New Brunswick's most scenic wedding venues.
