There’s something truly special about photographing the people closest to you, and Jena and Brandon’s engagement session at Mill Creek Nature Park in Riverview was one of those moments for me. I first met Jena back in 2019 when we both worked as Behavior Therapists for preschool-aged children with autism. We quickly became close friends and even though our careers eventually took us in different directions, we’ve stayed in touch ever since.
When Brandon proposed earlier this year, and Jena asked me to capture their wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited! There’s an extra layer of joy when you get to photograph moments for your close friends, and I’m truly honored to document their love story.
Jena had her heart set on a fall engagement session, and we chose the perfect location—Mill Creek Nature Park, a hidden gem in Riverview. The fall foliage provided a beautiful backdrop for their photos, and the evening was filled with so many memorable moments. Brandon, ever the trooper, carried a bag of wood logs for the fire they would share later. Meanwhile, Jena packed the perfect picnic for the two of them. They sipped champagne and read passages from their favorite book, creating a peaceful, romantic atmosphere.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, Brandon started a fire, and the two of them got cozy under a blanket. Their chemistry was undeniable, making my job incredibly easy. Candid moments flowed effortlessly as they laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed each other’s company. Capturing their love was a breeze, and it was clear that they were completely at ease in each other’s presence.
I’m already counting down the days to their 2025 wedding at the Cidery at 51 Acres. It’s going to be a day filled with love, laughter, and so many special moments—just like their engagement session.
