There’s something so special about weddings held at home — they carry a sense of calm, comfort, and authenticity that can’t quite be replicated anywhere else. Kyle and Connor’s wedding was exactly that. On October 11, under the brilliant canopy of fall foliage in Moncton, they exchanged vows in their own backyard surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
The day began with their two golden retrievers, Luke and Obi — named after their shared love of Star Wars — who happily posed for a few photos before heading off to the pup-sitter’s for the evening. From there, the atmosphere felt effortless: cozy, joyful, and full of anticipation.
Their ceremony took place beneath a wooden arch adorned with autumn-toned florals and draped fabric that blended beautifully with the golden leaves behind them. Their best friend officiated, weaving heartfelt emotion with just the right amount of humour. It was one of the most moving ceremonies I’ve witnessed — equal parts laughter and tears (even from me behind the camera!).
Guests were wrapped in soft blankets as the crisp October air set in, creating the perfect cozy backdrop for a fall celebration. After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed cocktail hour, mingling in the backyard before making their way to the front of the house where a warm, glowing tent awaited.
Their reception was both relaxed and lively — a converted shed served as the bar, complete with Flying Boats and Tire Shack beer on tap, plus wine for those who preferred something a little different. Spruce & Iron catered the evening, serving an incredible meal that guests raved about throughout the night.
As dinner turned to speeches, laughter and tears filled the tent. Listening to their families share stories about Kyle and Connor gave such a beautiful glimpse into who they are together — two people grounded in love, humour, and the kind of partnership that lifts everyone around them.
From start to finish, the day felt deeply personal — no extravagant frills, just intentional details, heartfelt words, and a whole lot of joy. It was the perfect reflection of them: genuine, warm, and surrounded by love.
Congratulations, Kyle and Connor. Your day was truly unforgettable — thank you for letting me be part of it.
