On August 8, 2024, under the warm summer sun and amidst the beauty of Blueberry Hill Farms in New Brunswick, Melanie and Bruno celebrated a love story 12 years in the making. Their wedding date held special significance—it marked the anniversary of their very first date, making it a sentimental nod to where their journey began.
Over the years, I’ve been privileged to witness and capture their growing story. I first met Melanie and Bruno when I was asked to photograph their family portraits a few years ago. From that moment, I felt like I’d been invited into their lives, capturing some of their most precious memories as their family grew. When they asked me to document their wedding day, I was beyond honored to be part of yet another chapter in their story.
Even though their wedding was held on a Thursday, the weekday didn’t deter their closest loved ones from coming together to celebrate. The day was as much a testament to their love as it was to the strong family bonds they share.
I arrived early in the day to begin capturing the details that made this wedding uniquely theirs. From Melanie’s beautifully styled flat lay of wedding invitations, jewelry, and keepsakes to the lively energy of her bridal party as they got ready, there was no shortage of love and laughter in the air. Melanie, who has an incredible eye for detail, decorated the venue herself. The reception space was stunning—a testament to her creativity and thoughtfulness. The feature wall behind their harvest table was adorned with photos from their 12 years together, chronicling the milestones, memories, and adventures they’ve shared. Guests were seated around one long table, symbolizing the unity of the families coming together, with Melanie and Bruno at the heart of it all.
Before the ceremony, Melanie and Bruno shared a private first look. In the quiet moments between the two of them, I could feel the depth of their connection. They laughed, held hands, and shared a few tears. It was a moment that perfectly captured who they are—two people deeply in love and filled with gratitude for the life they’ve built together.
The ceremony itself was short, sweet, and deeply emotional. While their daughter, “V,” had been chosen as the flower girl, she had other plans and decided to take a nap during the ceremony. True to her independent little spirit, she made her entrance during the family portraits instead!
Family is everything to Melanie and Bruno, and this was reflected throughout the day. Melanie had one special request that spoke volumes about their values—she asked me to take a portrait of every family attending the wedding. These portraits, taken as gifts for their guests, were a beautiful way of celebrating the people who mean the most to them.
The family portrait session after the ceremony was a lively, joy-filled part of the day. It seemed like the entire family came together to get little V to smile, pulling out all the stops—singing and dancing to "Baby Shark," making silly noises, and playing peek-a-boo. Their efforts paid off, and we captured the most heartwarming photos of V’s radiant smile as she hugged her parents.
Despite being a little shy in front of the camera, V’s love for Melanie and Bruno shone through every interaction. It was a reminder of the beautiful bond they share as a family.
The day’s celebrations wrapped up after the formal portraits, a choice that highlighted just how much family was the priority for Melanie and Bruno. Their wedding wasn’t about extravagance or excess—it was about love, connection, and the people who matter most.
As I left Blueberry Hill Farms, I couldn’t help but reflect on how lucky I am to be invited into moments like this. Melanie and Bruno’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their love—it was a celebration of family, of togetherness, and of the power of memories.
Thank you, Melanie and Bruno, for trusting me to capture these moments for you. Here’s to the next chapter of your beautiful story, and all the love and laughter still to come.
