On June 29, 2024, I had the incredible honor of capturing Ashley and Patrick’s beautiful wedding at Whispering Willow. It was a day filled with laughter, tears, celebration, and pure love. With 18 hours of coverage, split between myself and my amazing second shooter, Jenny Nguyen, we documented every detail of their unforgettable day from start to finish.
The day began with flat lay photography as Ashley and her bridal party prepared for the day ahead. Every detail, from the invitation suite to the heirloom jewelry, was carefully arranged to tell the story of this special day. Meanwhile, Jenny joined the gentlemen as they arrived and got ready, ensuring we captured both sides of the morning’s anticipation.
One of the most touching moments of the day was Ashley’s first look with her father and stepfather. Watching the joy and emotion on their faces as they saw her in her gown was so moving, and capturing this from multiple angles allowed us to preserve every detail of the moment. Shortly afterward, Ashley and Patrick shared a private first look in a shaded area behind the venue. It was an emotional and intimate moment that highlighted their deep connection, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
With a tight schedule, the wedding party portraits were filled with energy and excitement. The entire group came together first for some fun and lively shots, before Jenny and I split up to capture the ladies and the men separately. Then, Ashley and Patrick stepped in for a few quick bride and groom portraits before the ceremony began. Their love for each other radiated in every frame.
The ceremony itself was nothing short of emotional. With tears shed by Ashley, Patrick, and their closest family members, it was clear just how much love surrounded this couple. Their vows were heartfelt, and the atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy.
After the ceremony, the wedding party headed back to the house to keep the celebration going. And let me tell you—this wedding was fun. The party atmosphere never stopped, and the energy of the group made the entire day a joy to photograph.
As the weather shifted to overcast skies, we decided to adjust our plans for family portraits. Using the pond as a backdrop was the perfect choice, as the lighting was ideal and the wind was in the perfect direction. It’s always a joy when unexpected changes work out even better than planned.
One of the highlights of the day was Ashley and Patrick’s grand reveal of their reception space. With only 15 minutes to take it all in before the grand entrance, we took turns capturing every detail of the beautifully decorated venue. The care and thought that went into the décor reflected their personalities and the love they share. Shelley, the venue owner, truly captures the personalities of every couple, and out did herself with Ashley & Patrick's wedding decor!
The reception began with a bang as the wedding party entered to a table of celebratory shots, keeping the party vibe alive. First dances followed, creating intimate moments amidst the lively celebration. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, and as the sun began to set, we quickly stepped outside for a few more bride and groom portraits.
After speeches filled with heartfelt words and plenty of laughs, the dance floor opened up, and guests wasted no time making the most of it. The floor was packed, alive with energy and joy as I wrapped up my coverage at 11 PM.
Ashley and Patrick’s wedding was truly one of the most fun and memorable celebrations I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. From the emotional moments to the nonstop party, their day was a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple. Thank you, Ashley and Patrick, for trusting me to capture these incredible memories.
