There’s something incredibly special about my annual Motherhood Mini Sessions, and this year’s event at the breathtaking Lady Smith Manor on April 26 was nothing short of magical.
Since 2023, I’ve had the pleasure of hosting mini sessions at this stunning venue, and every time I return, I’m blown away by the care and creativity that Miriam, the owner of Lady Smith Manor, pours into the space. This spring, she truly outdid herself.
The centrepiece of this year’s setup was a gorgeous vintage clawfoot tub nestled in the middle of a bay window, surrounded by an absolutely dreamy flower installation designed by Miriam. The bright, cheerful blooms were a perfect reflection of the season — soft, fresh, and full of life. It felt like stepping into a fairytale, and it made the perfect backdrop for capturing heartfelt moments between moms and their little ones.
As a photographer, and a mom myself, these sessions mean so much to me. We’re often the ones behind the camera, documenting everyday life — but rarely do we get to be in the frame ourselves. That’s why celebrating Motherhood Mini Sessions is something I cherish deeply every year. It’s a chance to pause, reflect, and honour the beauty of motherhood — messy buns, giggles, cuddles and all.
This year's event was filled with warmth and connection. I had the honour of meeting some of the sweetest families, and I left the day feeling so grateful to do what I love. I’m incredibly lucky to have such wonderful clients who trust me with their memories.
I’ll be returning to Lady Smith Manor again in the fall, and I can’t wait to see what Miriam dreams up next.
