This week I took a little road trip to one of Atlantic Canada’s most iconic landmarks—the Confederation Bridge. Stretching gracefully across the Northumberland Strait, this bridge connects New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, and it’s a breathtaking spot that I’ll be returning to very soon for an intimate elopement.

For this scouting adventure, I brought my family along to enjoy the day with me. We started at the Cape Jourimain Nature Centre, where we toured the museum and climbed the lookout tower for sweeping views of the bridge and surrounding coastline. From up high, you truly get a sense of how vast and beautiful the landscape is—something I know will add so much drama and romance to my couple’s gallery.

Afterward, we made the short 15-minute walk to the Cape Jourimain Lighthouse, a charming historic structure tucked along the shore. It’s the kind of spot that feels timeless and full of character, perfect for quiet portraits or just soaking in the maritime scenery.

Once we wrapped up our exploring, we enjoyed a picnic lunch on the grounds, followed by a bowl of ice cream from the café—a sweet ending to a memorable day.

I love scouting ahead of time so that when the wedding day comes, my couples can relax and enjoy the moment while I already know the best light, the hidden corners, and the most beautiful vantage points. The combination of the bridge, beach, and lighthouse makes this spot truly magical.

I can’t wait to return with my couple and document their vows against this stunning backdrop. There’s something so timeless and romantic about standing at the edge of the ocean, promising forever.
