When Emma and Nic first reached out to me, they were planning what they thought would be an engagement session at the beautiful Crooked River Distillery near Memramcook. Laughter and conversation filled the air, with no one suspecting a thing.

Then came the moment.

Emma’s sister took the microphone to “welcome” guests and suddenly announced that there had been a change of plans — Emma and Nic were getting married right now.

While the guests gasped and cheered, Emma and Nic had quietly snuck away to change into their wedding attire. The shock, joy, and pure excitement on everyone’s faces were unforgettable — some teary-eyed, others speechless, but all absolutely overjoyed. The music began, and the processional started. The best man and maid of honour walked down a makeshift aisle created by cleverly placed cocktail tables, designed to keep the surprise under wraps.

Then, Emma appeared, walking hand in hand with her father. She and Nic exchanged emotional vows as the sky faded into twilight, overlooking the soft glow of the river below. Though the sun had already set and I began using flash, the images turned out just as magical — the light reflecting the warmth and emotion of the moment perfectly.
